T:V - Tweaking Resources
Here are some resources I'm compiling from many other Tribes Vengeance fan sites. I suggest for clan members to take a look at this...some of the tweaks may help your FPS and game lag. -dodge_it_

Back up everything before you start tweaking!

Essentials

  • No CD Exe
  • Self explanitory. No more CD needed to play!
  • T:V Pure MP
  •  Removes SP content(2Gb) and replaces the main menu leaving you with a pure Multiplayer T:V installation.
  • T:V Keychanger
  • Changes your T:V key without reinstalling the game.
  • How to remove the into movie
  • 1. Open C:\Program Files\VUGames\Tribes Vengeance\Program\Bin\TribesGUIState.ini 2. Change the last line to "EntryMenuClass="
  • T:V Cache Manager
  • A utility to move auto-downloaded components from the cache to its proper directory. Simply unzip - Run - Right click on the displayed files - Move and your done.

FPS Tweaks

  • Go to your (T:V Directory)\Program\Bin
    1. Change the Read-Only attribute of your TV_CD_DVD.ini
    2. Find the [D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice] section
    3. Change reducemouselag=true to reducemouselag=false reducemouselag=false

  • Improve FPS with these settings for vsync and refresh rate
    Go to your (T:V Directory)\Program\Bin
    1. Change the Read-Only attribute of your TV_CD_DVD.ini
    2. Find the [D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice] section

    5. Change UseVSync=[True, no screen tearing; False, screen tearing but better performance] UseVSync=False
    6. Save your changes and reset the Read-Only attribute on the TV_CD_DVD.ini
  • Improve FPS with these in game shadow settings
  • Apparently the demo and release added player shadows which considerable increased the drain on FPS. Follow these steps to reduce the shadowing drain

    1. Load Tribes: Vengeance
    2. Go to Options > Video
    3. Lower Dynamic Shadow Detail
    4. Click Apply
  • Edit the CacheMegs setting to improve "smoothness" as well as reduce map load times with 128MB video cards.
  • Go to your (T:V Directory)\Program\Bin

    1. Change the Read-Only attribute of your TV_CD_DVD.ini
    2. Find the [Engine.GameEngine] section
    3. Change CacheSizeMegs=32 to CacheSizeMegs=128 NOTE: if you have 768MB or more Ram you may try 256 or more. [Engine.GameEngine] CacheSizeMegs=128
